Greenlight Driving School – Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 06/08/2026

Agreement to Terms

By enrolling, scheduling appointments, participating in instruction, communicating with Greenlight Driving School, or making payment for services, the student and, when applicable, the student's parent or legal guardian, acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Greenlight Driving School reserves the right to revise these Terms & Conditions at any time. The most current version will always be available at: greenlightstudentdriver.com/terms-and-conditions . Continued participation after updates are published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

1. Enrollment & Eligibility

  • Students must be at least sixteen (16) years old to begin instruction.
  • Students who are fifteen (15) years old may enroll but may not participate until reaching age sixteen (16).
  • A valid and unexpired Connecticut learner's permit is required for all behind-the-wheel lessons.
  • The physical permit must be presented before each driving lesson. Photos, screenshots, copies, or expired permits are not accepted.
  • Students must wear appropriate footwear that fully covers the foot while driving.
  • Students must wear any corrective lenses required by their permit or license restrictions.
  • Students must be physically capable of safely operating a vehicle during instruction.
  • Driving lessons are limited to the maximum duration permitted by Connecticut law.

2. Scheduling, Attendance & Participation

  • Students may cancel or reschedule appointments at any time without cancellation fees or penalties.
  • Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes and driving lessons or provide notice when they are unable to attend.
  • A no-show occurs when a student fails to attend a scheduled appointment and cannot be reached through normal communication methods at or near the scheduled start time.
  • Greenlight Driving School reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule appointments due to weather conditions, instructor availability, vehicle maintenance, safety concerns, emergencies, or other operational circumstances.

No Show Protocol

Greenlight Driving School does not charge no-show fees. However, appointment times are limited and repeated missed appointments prevent those times from being offered to other students.

To maintain a fair and reliable scheduling system, the No Show Protocol may be activated after two (2) no-shows of any kind, including online classes, behind-the-wheel lessons, or a combination of both.

When the No Show Protocol is activated:

  • All future appointments may be canceled.
  • Online scheduling privileges will be suspended.
  • The student's enrollment may be placed on hold.
  • Neither the student nor the parent/guardian may schedule additional appointments online.

Because Greenlight Driving School does not require prepayment, students are free to discontinue the program at any time and pursue driver education with another provider if they choose.

Scheduling privileges may be restored after direct phone communication with Greenlight Driving School. Reinstatement is not automatic and remains at the sole discretion of Greenlight Driving School based on attendance history, communication, and prior compliance with school policies.

3. Online Class Requirements

  • Students should join online classes at least ten (10) minutes before the scheduled start time.
  • Cameras must remain on and the student's face must remain visible unless otherwise approved.
  • Students must participate using their legal first and last name.
  • Full attendance is required to receive credit.
  • Late arrivals, early departures, extended absences, or participation issues may result in loss of attendance credit.
  • Students may not sleep, drive, work, use social media, play games, or engage in activities that interfere with instruction.
  • Students must comply with all Connecticut DMV attendance limitations and course requirements.
  • Assessments may be administered throughout or at the conclusion of instruction.

4. Driving Lesson Safety & Conduct

  • Students must follow all instructions provided by the instructor.
  • The instructor may terminate a lesson whenever continued instruction would create a safety concern.
  • Smoking, vaping, alcohol use, drug use, or impairment of any kind is prohibited during instruction.
  • Students who appear ill, excessively fatigued, emotionally distressed, impaired, or otherwise unable to safely participate may have their lesson postponed or canceled.
  • Passengers are not permitted unless specifically approved by Greenlight Driving School.
  • Unsafe, threatening, abusive, or disruptive behavior may result in immediate termination of instruction and discontinuation of services.

5. Service Refusal & Discontinuation

Greenlight Driving School reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or discontinue services when necessary to protect the safety of students, instructors, vehicles, schedules, or business operations.

Reasons may include, but are not limited to:

  • Repeated no-shows or chronic scheduling issues.
  • Failure to follow instructor directions.
  • Unsafe behavior.
  • Harassment, threats, abusive conduct, or inappropriate communication.
  • Fraudulent, misleading, or inaccurate information.
  • Violation of these Terms & Conditions.

6. Payments & Outstanding Balances

  • Payment is due according to the pricing and payment arrangements established by Greenlight Driving School.
  • Outstanding balances remain the responsibility of the student and/or parent or legal guardian.
  • Greenlight Driving School may suspend services, withhold records, or delay certificate issuance until outstanding balances have been satisfied.

7. Completion Certificates

  • Completion certificates will only be issued after all required instruction has been successfully completed.
  • All financial obligations must be satisfied before a certificate is released.
  • Certificates will not be issued for incomplete programs.

8. DMV Testing Support

  • Greenlight Driving School does not administer Connecticut DMV road tests.
  • Use of a Greenlight vehicle for DMV testing is subject to instructor approval, vehicle availability, scheduling availability, and completion of any minimum training requirements established by Greenlight Driving School.

9. Pick-Up & Drop-Off

  • Pick-up and drop-off locations are generally limited to approved locations such as home, school, workplace, or other mutually agreed locations.
  • Students under eighteen (18) years of age may require parent or guardian authorization for alternate drop-off locations.
  • Greenlight Driving School is not responsible for supervising students before or after scheduled appointments.

10. Privacy, Communications & Records

  • Calls, emails, text messages, and other communications may be retained for documentation, scheduling, compliance, and quality assurance purposes.
  • Portions of online instruction may be recorded for attendance verification, regulatory compliance, or educational purposes.
  • Student information is used solely for educational, operational, legal, and regulatory purposes.
  • Student information is not sold to third parties.
  • Programs should generally be completed within twenty-four (24) months of enrollment.
  • Students who remain inactive for twelve (12) consecutive months may be classified as withdrawn or inactive.
  • Records are maintained and destroyed in accordance with applicable laws and Connecticut DMV requirements.

11. Assumption of Risk

Driver education and motor vehicle operation involve inherent risks. By participating in Greenlight Driving School programs, students and parents acknowledge those risks and agree to participate voluntarily.

Nothing within these Terms & Conditions shall be interpreted as waiving any rights or protections that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
